Who conduct NEBOSH exam?

NEBOSH examination is conducted by National Examination Board in Occupational safety and health (NEBOSH), a UK based organization. It was established in 1979 as an independent examination board to deliver occupational health safety and environmental courses. They are responsible for creating syllabus for their qualification, develops assessment like practical course work, examination etc. and the NEBOSH courses are delivered by NEBOSH accredited course providers.

What is the duration of NEBOSH IGC Exam?

NEBOSH IGC has 3 units in which each Unit should be independently accessed. The Unit 1 and Unit 2 are theoretical papers which will be conducted for 2 hours of each unit. And unit 3 is practical assessment, in which the candidate should submit a written report (based on real time scenario) also be conducted for 2 hours. Usually the practical assessment will be few dafter after completing unit1 and 2.

Is there Negative marking in NEBOSH IGC exam?

No, there is no negative marking system in NEBOSH IGC examination. You will be awarded with appropriate mark for correct answers and no marks will be provided for incorrect answers.

Pass mark of NEBOSH IGC:

The 3 units of NEBOSH IGC should be accessed independently and get pass in each unit separately. The minimum pass mark for Unit 1 and Unit 2 are 45 %, whereas unit 3 has pass mark of 60 %. Combining the marks together the final qualification will be categorized into 3 forms.
Pass: 150 – 179 marks Credit: 180 – 209 marks Distinction: 210+ marks

How can I get my NEBOSH IGC results?

The NEBOSH board will send the results to your registered e- mail id as well as to your NEBOSH course provider. Usually the NEBOSH IGC result will be declared after 45 UK working days of exam sitting. And you will receive your NEBOSH Certificate after 45 UK working days of receiving the result.

Can I write NEBOSH exam Units one by one?

You can take up NEBOSH IGC units one by one or together, but you should complete the certification within 5 years from the date of registration to NEBOSH.

NEBOSH IGC Syllabus:

The syllabus of NEBOSH IGC is designed by means of offering practical knowledge along with theoretical knowledge which are based on international standard, like ILO - International Labour Organization codes of practice.
The course covers: 
  • Understanding the principles of health and safety 
  • Identification and prevention of risk and hazard at workplace 
  • Practical training of gained knowledge in real time scenario 
The NEBOSH IGC training is of 11 days and the NEBOSH IGC units are split up as:
  • IGC1 – Management of international health and safety [Days 1-5] 
  • GC2 – Control of international workplace hazards [Days 6-9] 
  • GC3 – International health and safety practical application [Day 10]
NEBOSH IGC exam is of 2 hours written examination (IGC1, GC2) and GC3 is practical assessment (report submission) which should be submitted after few days of NEBOSH theoretical examination.
