What is NEBOSH IGC?
The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is the widely held and internationally accredited health and safety qualification throughout the world. It gives an excellent opportunity grounding in the management of health and safety. This certificate level qualification meets the academic requirements to gain the technician membership of (Tech IOSH) from Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and also the associate membership (AIIRSM) from International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). Also, the NEBOSH qualifications give confidence to the candidates to perform well in any kind of industry of health and safety sector.

What study options are available?
There are many ways to take up NEBOSH such as classroom-based tutor-led course, Online (E-Learning). The classroom course is recommended for students and job –seekers and the online course will be suitable for work going professionals, as they can study the course without taking leave to office. The online course can be studied from wherever, whenever they wish.

Is NEBOSH really tough?
In order to take up NEBOSH course, there are no eligibility criteria except good verbal and written communication skill in English for taking up the examination and to communicate among people at the workplace.  No prior knowledge of health and safety is required.
But the NEBOSH qualification requires a commitment towards it, i.e. a dedicated study time to understand the concepts, and the ways to apply them at workplace scenario, a method of approaching the NEBOSH exam to get succeed with good credentials.

How is NEBOSH IGC Examination Structured?
The IGC is of 3 Examinations - IGC 1, GC 2 and GC 3.
IGC1, GC2 is descriptive papers and the GC3 is reported submission, which should be based on real-time industry scenario.  
Every Unit should be accessed independently and get pass mark in every individual unit.  If any candidate fails in any one of the units, that unit should be repeated by the candidate in another exam sitting.  

What’s after NEBOSH IGC?  
After the completion of NEBOSH IGC, the candidate can search for any job in the health and safety sector. Or if one has wished to do their further higher study in occupational health and safety they can take up NEBOSH IDIP (International Diploma), which is a level 6 course.
