Hazard
Something with the potential to cause hurt. Example: A lorry moving around the workplace is a hazard because it may keep running over any employee. The hazard can be classified as:

1.               Physical  materials that cause hurt as a result of their physical qualities e.g. electricity, working in height, radiation, vibration, over sound and over noise, tripping hazard. 
2.               Chemical – substances that cause harm, because of their chemical qualities some example are: lead, mercury, Sulfuric corrosive, powder/cement dust and so on.
3.               Biological  living small organisms which cause ailment and sick at workplace e.g. hepatitis B virus, Legionella microorganisms.
    4.               Ergonomic – anxiety put on the body through movement and posture e.g. often  repetitive treatment of little boxes.  
    5.               Psychological – things that can possibly make damage the mind rather than the body e.g. introduction to the highly traumatic accident.
